Everyday Sommelier Private Wine Dinner with Ankida Ridge Vineyards

May 18th, 2019 – Everyday Sommelier Private Wine Dinner with Ankida Ridge Vineyards – CLICK TO RSVP

Mark your calendars for this fantastic opportunity! Everyday Sommelier is hosting a wine dinner featuring the Burgundian-style wines of Ankida Ridge Vineyards. These beautiful wines have received glowing reviews from New York Magazine, The Washington Post, and Food & Wine Magazine–just to name a few. They are also featured on the notable wine lists of The Inn at Little Washington as well as Blackberry Farm. The wine dinner will be hosted at the Bedford Social Club with Chef Michael Siehien creating a lovely 5-course dinner paired with six of Ankida Ridge’s wines. Vineyard owners, Christine and Dennis Vrooman will guide us through each wine and share why Ankida Ridge is such a special place to make wine in Virginia. Your $75 reservation fee includes all wines and dinner (including tax and gratuity). You will also have the opportunity to purchase wine at the end of the evening.

“SENSES & SEASONS” at Ankida Ridge

Join us in celebrating the four seasons of Ankida, where you will immerse yourself, walk with and connect to Mother Nature using your five senses. This lovely journey of self-discovery will allow you to experience the natural world in a unique and personal way as you enjoy your own “Allurement Walk,” where Mother Nature becomes your guide and constant companion.  Facilitated by Michele Zehr, founder and executive director of the “Center for Earth-Based Healing,” Michele will guide you on how to re-connect to your own internal wisdom as Mother Nature “draws you” to the places she wants you to see. Before heading out on your walk, Michele will offer you some exercises you can do, in your own way, place, and time on this beautiful land of Ankida, where heaven and earth join.

All sessions will include a visit to the vineyard and a guided discussion by Ankida’s owners on the stage of the vineyard’s life during that particular time of year.  After our walk, we will gather and enjoy a cup of tea made from plants grown indigenously on the mountain. Sessions will end with a light meal, wine and conviviality as we share experiences of our Allurement Walk and forest immersion.

Experience for yourself this place named Ankida, where heaven and earth join.

Because of our fairly remote location, we are not open as often as most tasting rooms. We are not hard to get to, we just aren’t surrounded by throngs of other vineyards and highly populated areas, which to tell the truth is part of its magic. We just have stunning panoramic views, sheep grazing on the mountainside, the finest of wines, a friendly staff and a peacefulness that is hard to find. Come sip and stay a while.

We offer a cheese and salami board with warm bread, fruit and cookies. You are invited to bring your own picnic lunch.

All pets must remain on leash due to the free roaming of our sheep on the grounds.

The tasting room is open for tastings every Sat & Sun year round, from 12-5pm. For groups of 8 or more, please reserve ahead by emailing No buses please.

Our winery is 20 min west of the village of Amherst, VA.

Distances from nearby cities:

Hire a tour company to drive you down to Ankida, then head out for lunch, visit another winery and be dropped off at the Cottage where you are a two minute walk to the Hoppin’ Downtown Mall, an historic tree-lined, pedestrian mall, filled with the best restaurants, shops, theater, street music and more.
