Looking back… and looking forward to 2026!

Ever grateful for our fabulous team. These wonderful women make Ankida a special place indeed.
Our Ankida Ridge family wishes all of you, our faithful supporters, a new year filled with good health, good experiences, good friendships, good food and wine…
I think an easy way of saying it is…
We wish you all a year of “Goodness” through and through!
We are grateful for the year just past. It was rich with so many memorable moments, both good and not so good, having to say good-bye to two of our beloved dogs who had been with us for over 12 years. First Guppie in the spring. If you haven’t seen the little miracle he presented to us the night he died, please take a look.
And then, just after Christmas, we experienced a most sudden and hurtful loss of our beloved guardian of the mountain, Luciano, aka, Lucci whom many of you who visit the Tasting Room have gotten to know over the years. They were both so loved and they will always be remembered for being beacons of love and protection for all who entered their realm.
On the other end of the spectrum, we were blessed with so much for which to be grateful, experiences too numerous to mention all, but to name a few…
- Two Gold Medals in the Virginia Governor’s Cup competition
- Our 2022 Pinot Noir tied for top honors with Hirsch Vineyards of Sonoma with a score of 98 in Vinepair’s annual, “Best Pinot Noirs in 2025”
- Our Pinot Noir was placed as the amenity wine in guest rooms of Travel & Leisure’s newly rated Best Resort in the US, Primland
- Excavation began on our new Pavilion space up next to the Overlook, which we hope will be opening early this Fall
- We welcomed a new precious life born to our newest staff member, Gwen, little baby, Matilda. Congratulations, Gwen, Michael and big sister, Charlotte!
And… just as we turned the corner to 2026, this great article in Wine Enthusiast magazine comes out, kicking off the year in good style! Does that vineyard look familiar?
